On February 9, the 1st kick off meeting about Sand
Game´s project took place in conference hall in Egnatia Hotel (Kavala), where
it was the partners from Italy, Spain and Romania, along with the staff that
integrates Pythia Koinsep, and personalities such as the mayor of the Pangeo
area. There were also the media, who interviewed both Ioanna (Legal
Representantive of Pythia Koinsep) and Filippos Anastasiadis (Mayor of Pangeo).
The day began with
a presentation by each of the members of the Sand Games project. The member
from Italy began by explaining what actions related to the sport his
association carried out. The organization of Romania continued, and finally the
partner of Spain spoke. Ioanna (Legal Representative of Pythia Koinsep)
introduced each member of the staff of the organization, and then spoke Chara
Monachou (Vice President of Pythia Koinsep) explaining to the partners of which
Pythia Koinsep is composed, and what actions it does.
Then Ioanna (Legal
Representative of Pythia Koinsep), explained each section of the Sand Games
project, and all the members were reading and talking together about the
project for a long time.
At two o´clock a break was
made, and all of us we went to eat, where we continued talking at a more
informal level about the different projects. At the end of the meal, we all
went to the area where the project would take place. Ioanna (Legal
Representative of Pythia Koinsep) was explaining to the partners what areas
would be used, and from outside the site she was showing the different places
that would be destined to the project.
The Romanian partner with his assistant had to catch
his flight back soon, so they left. After a while the Italian partner also said
goodbye, and finally we went to dinner with the Spanish partner, who was
telling us about his project in Madrid.
It was a new experience for me, although in my past
I have been at conferences, congresses and debate tables, however I have never been
in a meeting at this height. It was so interesting to watch what kind of
aspects of an international project were discussed. I learned a lot of sport´s
project, due to I have always working in social projects related with
environmental. This kind of experience allows me to see and learn, which for a
hypothetical future case, I will know how to use sport in a project. It was an
incredible oportunity to learn how sport can be an inclusion tool, which as a pedagogue
I appreciate, because it can help me in my development as a profesional. It was
interesting to see the different projects, like Romania´s project, which I
found very complete. Or the project from Spain, that by the reason of having
the same native language as Carlos (President of Red Deporte) this could
explain to me that he worked with his project. And the truth is that it was
fascinating, because it developed the project in one of the most marginalized
neighborhoods in Spain, and where it was getting football to be a tool of
cohesion and social formation.
This was a very positive experience for me because
it has given to me a lot in a very short time. And it has allowed me to delve
into my knowledge, which as a pedagogue is something that I really appreciate.
When I considered doing this volunteer service I had not imagined it, but this
is amazing.
